Originally built as a ‘cathedral to learning’, this building never fails to impress. This Grade II-listed red-brick hall was built in 1900 and has welcomed thousands of students for graduation ceremonies over the decades.

Now it inspires delegates and visitors alike as one of the University’s accredited Venues of Excellence. The hall itself features a trompe l’oeil domed ceiling located above its formal marble entrance, bordered by archways that draw the eye to the centre of the room.

When hiring the Great Hall, the day delegate rate includes the use of the screen, data projector, PA system, lectern and microphones. In addition, a range of audio-visual packages are available, delivered by our in-house AV experts.

As with other locations, a range of catering options is available through our Food Fellows catering team. These include canapés and drinks in the marble rotunda entrance; fine dining and banqueting; relaxed street food on the lawns outside; or a working buffet lunch.
