Great events shouldn’t cost the earth. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we’ve made every effort to make Royal Geographical Society Conference 2025 as sustainable as possible.
- We don’t use single-use plastic in our conferencing package
- Every dish in our menus is carbon A-rated
- All food waste will be converted into green energy or turned into compost
- All takeaway cups are made from wheat and are both sustainable and edible
- Lunch containers coated with seaweed will be composted
- All fruit, eggs and milk are British to reduce food miles
- Delegates are encouraged to travel sustainably
- It’s easy to hire e-scooters from Beryl, and bikes from West Midlands Cycle Hire to zip around campus.
- From signage to labels on our decorations, we’ve used recyclable FSC-certified card or PVC-free pull-up banners. Even our display moss wall is fully recyclable and made of real reindeer moss.
- Our conference marquee is supplied by award-winning Fews Marquees, known for its excellent sustainable It will be repurposed for an additional two events before being disassembled.
Please take care to use the right bins so we can dispose of everything correctly.
