We started out by asking the Conferences and Events team what makes a successful away day. Georgia Johnson, Account Manager, from the Conference and Events team said; ‘It’s all about variety, interaction, and a bit of surprise. The best away days mix structured activities with time to relax and connect.’
Connor Stanford, Events Coordinator, said, ‘It’s about striking a good balance. At our very own team-building event in the Great Hall a couple of months ago, we took on the challenge of solving a crime, figuring out the clues and sharing ideas. The guys running the event did little workshops in between where some of us learnt how to take fingerprints for example, and then we’d come back together as a team to solve the other clues using our new skills. About halfway through we stopped for an ice cream break, which gave us enough time to recharge and socialise outside of the activity too. It was great!’
