From hotel to hospital: Edgbaston Park Hotel feeds 100 NHS staff

The festive season is all about kindness and generosity – and the team at Edgbaston Park Hotel, our onsite hotel, embodied just that.

While hotels up and down the country were whipping up Christmas dinners for their guests, the Edgbaston Park Hotel team filled over 100 bags with breakfast items for hard-working nurses, doctors and care staff at the University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) NHS Foundation Trust.

On 22 December 2022, Edgbaston Park Hotel’s Head of Commercial, Billy Harris, and Business Development Manager, Krishna Pastakia, delivered dozens of breakfasts to the Trust to help fuel the NHS’ busiest time of year and boost staff spirits.

The festive donation wasn’t the first time the hotel has supported local NHS staff. Edgbaston Park Hotel worked closely with UHB during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing over 1,000 front-line staff with somewhere safe and secure to stay throughout the crisis. The hotel has also played an important part in hosting UHB meetings and continues to be a key accommodation provider for the Trust.

Billy Harris said: “It was a wonderful feeling to be giving to those who work tirelessly for others, especially during the festive period. Supporting and being a part of the local community is a key value for us at Edgbaston Park Hotel and the University of Birmingham, so it’s always great to be able to give back and help whenever we can.’

Edgbaston Park Hotel plans to work more closely with the UHB NHS Foundation Trust and local charities throughout the coming year. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
